Things are good, busy and crazy.
I had my first turkey butchering experience... it wasn't so bad... really. The worst part was that de-gutting turkeys in close quarters with other people means that weird turkey innard gut juice kept spraying me in the face. I dealt with it pretty well I think (well, I didn't barf on the birds, so that's somethin right???)
I'm pretty happy with the whole turkey experience. Those effers were HUGE! our smallest was just over 20 pounds, the biggest was 34. Seems pretty good if you can cram them in the oven...
So, other news? I got another tattoo! I LOVE this one :) It seems that everyone else either loves it or REALLY hates it. (Old ladies tend to hate it...and yell at me).
My mom REALLY hates it, but I suppose that's to be expected. I like it so that's all that really matters. It has generated a lot of interest by random strangers, so if you wanna know who did it and all that stuff :Sean Smoley at Prophecy Tattoo in Smithers. He rocks the Kasbah. I still LOVE roller derby even though I busted myself up good. I broke my leg... well my ankle really. A bimalleolar fracture and dislocation.
It sucked... I had surgery last Wednesday to put it all back together again. I'm now bionic, sporting a metal plate and a bunch of screws. Apparently I'll get a special card to make it through airport security without being tazered like a common terrorist, so that's a definite silver lining to the situation. This isn't my xray, but its pretty similar to what's going on in there. I find it gross but fascinating. OH ya, I forgot to mention that I was EFFING awake for the surgery where they grind the bones back together and drill the screws in there... ya... fo shizz AWAKE. Just an epidural. I felt it but it didn't hurt. It was a friggen nuts experience. I'm surprised I didn't barf all over them... ewww.People are getting pretty pissed at me cuz I'm going to go back to derby. Its not a dumb decision... really... It was a crazy accident... get it?? ACCIDENT. Sucks that it happened, but I could have fallen down the stairs and had the same outcome.
I hate being on the sidelines, but its gonna take some time to heal, so I'm raising up the kids to be derby superstars. They both love it. Maren loves the fashion :) hahahaha
Oh, I do have to say that being wheeled into the ER by another derby chick, both of us still in our derby outfits was an experience. Bahahahahaaa. I owe Jen a huge debt of service after that :)
I love this one of Maren. She sooo has the derby attitude :) She loves the tights too hahaha!
Nyla had her 4th birthday! Insane right?? I can't believe she's 4 already. In her mind she's now a big girl who can tackle the world and get a job. I should let her... I need to get some pics off another camera of her birthday, then I'll share some with ya.
That's it for now folks, I've gotta go crutch myslef around for a while :)
Hope none of you are getting snow like us... it makes my soul shiver.
