This is my new favorite picture because it captures Nyla singing her little heart out. She has the highest squeaky little voice and loves to sing LOUD. Its so cute! I'm going to try to get a video of her singing and figure out how to post it on here. (Nice drool eh?)
This one is cute too cuz she's so proud of herself for sitting up. She usually looks like she'd be strutting around if she could... so I guess she's strutting on the spot. It won't be long till she's crawling!

She's getting big!
I finally remembered to get some batteries for my camera so I thought I'd update some pictures. Nyla has 2 teeth on the bottom but is working on some more. I think this picture is so funny - she has that crazy look in her eyes. Usually when you see her looking like that she turns into barracuda baby and will start ferociously gnawing on anything infront of her (usually a hand or arm).

One of my favorite pictures

I just love this picture and thought I'd share it.
Things here are good. It looks like we're going to be getting out of the 'crack shack' soon. We'll still be renting till we find a house we both really love which will hopefully be soon. I found one I really liked and went to check it out while Darryl was at work. Its a cooky old house with character - so pretty much perfect, but Darryl is much more practical then me (thank goodness) and pointed out all the work that it would need. I tend to focus on things like the bright red tile backsplash in the kitchen (yaay) and the amazing soaker tub in the bathroom; where he focuses on having to rip out an upstairs bedroom to make a bathroom up there, and putting new flooring in most of the house (the living room and dining room have original hardwood but the rest is crap). So I think we'll let that one slip away - especially since the prices are insane which means we should probably hold out for one we really love.
Nyla is doing so well on the Soy formula and organic mush. Her tummy is so much better so hopefully she'll be growing like crazy.
We had organic buffalo for supper... weird I know. I was expecting it to look more buffalo-ey, but it just looked like regular everyday meat. I don't know exactly what I expected but I was bummed anyway.
H'mmmm not much more for news.
After my weather complainer post I'd like to report that we are having awesome weather. Maybe the groundhog was wrong and spring will be here soon. (My dad says that the groundhog is 'dumb as hell' cuz after all its a groundhog, so we really shouldn't trust it. Good advice.)
Hope you're all well. You grandparents better start commenting on all this cuteness or its BEATS for you... yeah thats right, I'm tough... don't mess with me!

Nyla is 6 months old today!
I can't believe 6 monts has gone by since the day our little squeaky was born! Its insane how much she's changed... she got another tooth yesterday! Pretty soon she'll be in college (ok, not pretty soon but I'm sure that's how it will feel).
We're just so happy that she's here and that she's ours. What a beautiful little girl.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENN!
We're going organic!!

This is a great day for me. We finally found out why Nyla has been having so many tummy issues since she's been on formula and why she hasn't been putting on enough weight. She has a super sensitive tummy (kind of like her mommy) so we're switching to soy formula and all organic food. There's an organic bakery across the street from us and a company that will order anything organic you want. I've wanted to do this for a while so I'm glad that now we really have a reason to go through with it. The doctor said that even her meat needs to be hunted or certified organic or else her tummy will get worse and she'll be one of those weakly kids... boo on that! She's going to be climbing trees, jumping from hay lofts and running all over the place - after all thats what being a kid is all about isn't it? Who hasn't jumped from a hay loft when they were a kid and thought it was the coolest thing ever???
I'm really happy, I just think its a great change for us. Darryl said that as long as we don't have to move to a hippy commune he's all for it (a commune might be pretty cool though).

Where's global warming when you need it???

I'm so ready for winter to be over... I don't do well with extreme temperatures. I can't handle being in the sun for too long - I can't even walk around the block on a sunny day cuz I get dizzy and sick, but I can't handle perpetual winter either. Yes I'm a weather complainer, but come on ENOUGH ALREADY!! Boooo on winter!

Nasty...
I'd like you to look at this innocent little face and wonder with me how she's capable of producing large amounts of toxic waste...
We had quite the experience this morning with a mongo poop. This was no ordinary poop, this was the kind that goes up the front and the back and out both legs.... I had her on the change pad on the bed and as soon as I took off her diaper she rolled - yes poop smeared all over my bed. (barf) Then when I was getting her rolled around again she managed to grab a handfull of poo from her diaper... and just as I was grabbing for her hand she grabbed the cat (who was horrified by the way). I finally got her cleaned up, and the cat cleaned up... and my bed cleaned up, and then myself cleaned up... GROSS!
Feel free to laugh... just not too hard.

Just completely pooped
Poor little squeaky has been teething for what seems like a hundred years. It must be hard work cuz she's not usually a very good sleeper, but every now and then she just zonks out completely. It looks like a tooth is finally breaking through so hopefully she'll have a little bit of relief - until the next one...

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!
HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY!!!
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY! This happens to be my all time favorite holiday (Christmas is pretty great too). Ihope you're all having a big ol' green beer or Irish coffee and are thinking about how great the Irish are, and how smart and generally perfect... :)
Nyla is enjoying her first St Paddys day, and although we haven't found a big bash here (booo) we were looking at houses so maybe next year if we aren't visiting Ireland we'll host our own big bash - green beer and all.
Well if you aren't Irish I hope you can find someone Irish to kiss so that some of the good luck wears off on you.
I found a funny quote that I thought my mom would get a kick out of...
"The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scotts as a joke, but the Scotts haven't seen the joke yet." ~Oliver Herford
I thought it was kind of funny considering my mom is an Irish piper :)
ENJOY THE DAY!
PS : For the scoffers and those who can't see how wonderful we the Irish are... May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind illegitimate children chase you so far over the hills of Damnation that the Lord himself can't find you with a telescope. (Irish Curse)

Hellooooo world!
Here we go!

I've decided to start a blog so that family & friends spread all over can keep in touch easier. And since I've been reminded that Darryl and I don't matter anymore cuz its all about Nyla (thanks Aunty Cindy)it will be an easy way for Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles etc etc to see Nyla's progress.
She is doing amazingly well for just having turned her world upside down. We're staying with my Dad until our place is ready and she seems to like the activity of the animals and people all around her. She LOVES grabbing kitty's tails... I'm hoping the cats keep their sharpeys to themselves!
Darryl had a job when we moved here, but quickly decided that it was junk. So he started his new job today. He's still trying to figure out the helicopter pilot thing, so maybe by the time we move again he can just zip us along in the sky. That would be so great.
I'll add some recent pics and hopefully keep this somewhat updated... I'm not really the blogging type after all.
